If you’re like us, you’ve probably all but forgotten freshman gym class. But for Airiana and Skyler, freshman gym class is something they’ll never forget. It was where they met and—little did they know—was the beginning of a love story that overcame all odds.
“We [were] high school sweethearts,” Airiana said. “It takes a lot to grow through the young years and make it through all the changes in life.” The couple’s devotion to each other made their wedding day not just a beautiful occasion but also a celebration of lasting love.
Featuring dreamy shades of pink and light gray, Airiana and Skyler’s wedding complemented the joy and serenity they exude as a couple. Airiana said they were going for a “light and airy” feel, and they certainly achieved that! We love this windswept shot by photographer Aimee Novy.
Every part of the wedding was delicately infused with that light and airy feel, creating a sense of harmonious artistry as each member of the wedding party held or wore an Eco Flower arrangement. The bride’s bouquet featured flowers in gray, pink, off-white, and antique-brown book pages. The maid of honor and bridesmaids were lovely in gowns of flowy romantic pink, holding their own petite versions of the bride’s bouquet. The groom wore a single pink flower in his lapel, which perfectly matched his bowtie and complemented the soft gray of his suit.
The couple’s song is “Then” by Brad Paisley, and we can see why. “We've been through a lot,” Airiana says. “The lyric ‘and I thought I loved you then’ just shows that as we continue to grow as individuals we also grow as a couple.”
The flowers, the colors, the venue, the 80 percent chance of rain that never happened, the joyful smiles—all these combined to make Airiana and Skyler’s special day a perfect celebration of their ever-growing love.
